Wrongful Credit Damage and Identity Theft Attorney and Expert Robert F. Brennan to Appear on Everyday Wealth Internet Radio Program

15 February 2006

Wrongful credit damage and identity theft expert and attorney Robert F. Brennan will appear as a featured guest on Gerri Detweiler's "Everyday Wealth" radio program on Thursday, February 16, 2006 from 12-1 p.m. P.S.T. The link to the program is wsRadio.com/EverydayWealth.

In this particular episode, among other topics, Mr. Brennan will discuss how to handle debt collectors and creditors that "re-age" accounts. By law, most derogatory credit information is supposed to come off a consumer's credit report after 7 and one-half years. However, many debt collectors try to get around this by "re-aging" the debt when they take it over. In other words, debt collectors report the date of first delinquency on the debt as being years more recent than the actual date. The result inevitably is that the debt remains on the consumer's credit report longer than is permitted by law, thereby giving the collector more opportunity to collect on it.

Debt collectors also change account numbers when reporting debts to "re-age" them. There are a number of tricks that collectors play to wrongfully damage consumer's credit reports, and Mr. Brennan is not only an expert at detecting them but also in resolving them to the consumer's advantage.

About Robert F. Brennan: Robert F. Brennan, Esq. and his firm, Brennan, Wiener & Associates, handle identity theft and wrongful credit report damage cases and have a track record of successfully cleaning up credit reports and also of obtaining compensation for their clients. Mr. Brennan is well known for taking this fairly technical area of the law and breaking it down into its simplicity so that anyone can themselves, without the assistance of an attorney, handle identity thefts and also clean up derogatory marks on their credit reports which do not belong there. When consumers find themselves unable to clean up their credit reports on their own, that's where Brennan, Wiener & Associates steps in, to ensure that the wrongful derogatory credit marks created by identity thieves get cleaned up and to ensure that the consumers so affected receive adequate compensation.
