30 October 2005Manhattan personal injury law firm Weitz & Luxenberg, P.C. is pleased to announce that attorney Sheri L. Tarr has joined the firm.
Ms. Tarr comes to Weitz & Luxenberg from Chicago’s Clifford Law Offices, P.C., a nationally renowned personal injury trial firm. While at Clifford Law Offices, Ms. Tarr handled personal injury and wrongful death claims arising out of pharmaceutical and medical device liability, medical malpractice, product defects, consumer fraud, vehicular accidents, aviation, and premises liability. Ms. Tarr’s practice also included complex litigation, multi-district litigation, and consolidated actions.
Ms. Tarr has extensive courtroom experience having achieved millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements on behalf of clients injured by negligent doctors and product manufacturers. At Clifford Law Offices, Ms. Tarr would also frequently write and argue pre-trial motions, dispositive motions, and post-trial motions at both the state and federal level. She has conducted thousands of depositions of medical professionals, plaintiffs, defendants, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses.
Prior to joining Clifford Law Offices, Ms. Tarr was as a law clerk for Washington-based Public Citizen where she lobbied against federal and state tort reform. Before law school, she worked in the corporate sector for medical device and pharmaceutical companies including Baxter Healthcare and Pfizer. Ms. Tarr has held positions in sales, sales management, and product management, and ascended to worldwide market manager for Pfizer, where she managed a multi-million dollar global market segment for implantable devices.
Ms. Tarr now joins Weitz & Luxenberg’s Drug and Medical Device Litigation Department, which is headed by attorney Paul Pennock. Ms. Tarr is a frequent speaker and an active member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Bar Association, and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. She received her law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1998, and earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in1985.
