Three Nationally Recognized Phoenix Law Group Pharmacy Benefit Attorneys to Speak at Prescription Drug Pricing Conference

8 January 2006

Nationally recognized pharmacy benefit and

operations attorneys Laurel Wala, Samantha Brown and Cami Agena of the

Phoenix Law Group (PLG) of Feldman Brown Wala Hall & Agena will serve as

faculty at the Fourth Annual In-House Counsel Forum on Government

Regulation of Prescription Drug Pricing Conference on Thursday January 26th

and Friday, January 27th at the InterContinental: The Barclay New York

City.

The PLG partners will provide valuable insight on the trends and issues

impacting drug pricing and pharmacy benefit management (PBMs) companies.

Presentations and workshops include:

Laurel Wala will deliver a presentation on "PBMs and Pricing

Transparencies" that will address the status of transparency legislation

and litigation in the states; the impact of the pricing disclosure

requirements of the Medco Health consent order; and what provisions

manufacturers, PBMs and health plans should include in contracts to protect

themselves. Additionally, Wala will discuss how the use of average

wholesale pricing (AWP) has led to allegations of pricing collusion.

Samantha Brown and Cami Agena will conduct a workshop, "Pricing for PBMs

under Medicare Part D," that will identify pricing concerns unique to PBMs

under Medicare Part D and offer effective strategies for working through

the pricing maze. They will highlight the impact of disclosure and the

reporting of pricing information under the MMA; how CMS and USP formulary

guidance have impacted Part D pricing; and the pros and cons of sponsorship

and servicing for PBMs.

"We selected PLG's pharmacy benefits and operations attorneys to speak at

this event because of their extensive background in all areas of PBM

operations," says Lisa J. Piccolo, industry manager, pharmaceutical/life

sciences group, legal division of the American Conference Institute. "They

have the

in-depth experience, knowledge and understanding of the issues and

challenges facing PBMs and pharmaceutical companies needed to help to

educate and inform our attendees."
