Special Counsel Funds Three Law School Scholarships

Special Counsel(R), the legal staffing unit of MPS Group Inc. (NYSE: MPS), continues to support workplace diversity by offering three annual scholarships to qualified minority law students. Working closely with the Hispanic National Bar Foundation and the Hispanic National Bar Association for the second consecutive year, Special Counsel focuses on initiatives that promote diversity and encourage minorities to attend law school.

Special Counsel offers three $7,500 scholarships that are awarded over three years of law school. Incoming minority law students and applicants apply through the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. The Hispanic National Bar Association and The Hispanic Scholarship Fund choose the winners.

David Maldonado, regional vice president of Special Counsel and its leader of diversity efforts nationally, believes that diversity in the workplace starts with diversity in the educational system. Special Counsel hopes to expand the diversity of the legal staffing labor pool.

There are approximately 52,000 Hispanic lawyers in the United States, less than one percent of the total number of lawyers in the US.
