Somali Justice Advocacy Centre Applauds EU Agreement with Somalia, Urges the U.S. to Support Somali Government
30 March 2006 The office of the Somali Justice Advocacy Centre, on behalf of the Somali people in the United States, applauds the agreement between the Somali new government and European Union signed on Tuesday, March 28 in Brussels. The European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso expressed this agreement as a milestone marking a new face of Somalia once again to become an active member in the community of nations. According to the Somali Justice Advocacy Centre, the U.S diplomatic disengagement from Somalia continues to wreck the hope to reinstitute a Somali government, and prolongs the suffering of an already impoverished Somali people into more functional fighting and political turmoil. Therefore, the office of the Somali Justice Advocacy Centre is urging the United States government to support the Somali new government and appoint an envoy to the Somali peace process, rather than issuing occasional confusing statements from the State Department. http://www.usnewswire.com/
