Somali Justice Advocacy Center: Jihadists Present a Serious Threat Not Only In Somalia, But to the Whole Region
3 November 2006 Omar Jamal, executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center, issued today the following statement on the collapse of the Somali peace talks in Khartoum: "The Office of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center believes that the collapse of the Somali peace talks in Khartoum was mainly due to the Islamists grand, unwavering ambition to turn Somalia into Taliban style of a government. "The assertion of Ethiopian presence in the country existed prior to the Khartoum failed peace talks, the Center found the Islamists refusal to meet with the government on the basis of the Ethiopian presence this time untenable. The two prior peace talks took place in Khartoum, Sudan with both sides accusing each other the presence of Ethiopia and Eritrea in the country. The Center is also deeply troubled about the activities of Djibouti embassy in D.C. encouraging the Somali youth to go back to their homeland to defend from the Ethiopian onslaught, and the foreign jihadists from Middle East and Pakistan. "The Center calls for an immediate action from the international community to avert a regional war and Al-Qaeda affiliates to take foothold in Somalia." http://www.usnewswire.com/
