Pre-Millions More Movement Powerhouse Conference to Focus on Reparations and Hurricane Katrina

The Millions More Movement weekend will kick off Oct. 14 with a powerful Black Family Conference entitled: "Reparations, Healing, and Hurricane Katrina." This historic national event will take place from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Scripture Cathedral Church, located on 9th and O St. NW (2 blocks from the DC Convention Center) in Downtown Washington D.C. Doors will open at 4 p.m.
Hosted by National Co-Convener and New Black Panther Party Chairman, Attorney Malik Zulu Shabazz, the conference will feature such noted speakers and leaders as: Grammy award winning artist Erykah Badu (MMM National Co-Convener), Dr. Maulana Karenga (Millions More Movement National Co-Convener/Chair of the Us Organization), Dr. Conrad Worrill (MMM National Co Convener/National Black United Front Chairman), hit it singer Soul Child, Julianne Malveaux (Columnist and Economist), Fredrika Bey (Women in Support of the Million Man March) Attorney Chokwe Lumumba (New Afrikan Peoples Organization), Dr. Yusef Ben Jochannan (Master Historian) Dr. Imari Obadele, Dr. Leonard Jeffries (Professor CUNY New York), Fred Hampton Jr (Chair of POCC and son of Fred Hampton, the famous Illinois Chapter Chairman of the Black Panther Party), Professor James Smalls, health author Dr. Wali Whitaker, and host Pastor Bishop C.L. Long.
Other speakers are to include: the Nation of Islam, Jericho Political Prisoner Movement, Representatives of Dr. Malachi Z. York, members of the Original Black Panther Party, actual survivors from the New Orleans Crisis who will speak and give testimony and other active leadership.
Special guests include: Warrior Woman and Chief Ernie Longwalker of the Red Indian Dakota Nation, Puerto Rican Nationalists Activists, and Black Activists Organized Coalition on Hurricane Katrina who will update the nation on the progress of their rescue, relief, reconstruction and reparations work. Lively singing, praise, worship, song and dance will be presented along with food and refreshments, which will be served. It is a family affair that should not be missed.
A special award to the Nation of Islam and their leadership will be presented for their hard work on the vision of Minister Louis Farrakhan. Citations will be presented to the members of the New Black Panther Party for Self Defense for their vanguard work in the Millions More Movement and Hurricane Katrina.
According to host Atty. Malik Zulu Shabazz, the Pre-Millions More Movement Conference "Will serve as a critical segway into the Millions More Movement by setting the proper atmosphere in which healing and serious liberation work can be achieved on and after Hurricane Katrina".
Dr. Conrad Worrill proclaims that, "This October 14th rally will unite many forces that have been estranged and pull us together toward the critical focus of the Millions More Movement which is Reparations, Repair and Hurricane Katrina. We must gear up for the Major Rally on Saturday by clarifying our purpose and firing up the masses of our people toward our ultimate objective."
The Millions More Movement Rally will begin at about 6:00 am on Saturday October 15th. Atty. Shabazz, a key organizer of the Millions More Movement and a powerful orator, is scheduled to speak at around 1:30 pm. The leader of the March's Anniversary, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, is scheduled to speak around 2:20 in the afternoon.
