OutlookSoft Considers Hyperion Lawsuit Without Merit
19 December 2004OutlookSoft Corporation, a leading provider of business performance management (BPM) solutions, today provided comment on a press release issued by Hyperion Solutions announcing that it had filed a lawsuit against OutlookSoft in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on December 10, 2004. According to the press release, the lawsuit alleges that OutlookSoft infringes on two Hyperion patents.
"We believe this lawsuit is without merit and we plan to conduct a vigorous defense," stated Michael Morini, president, OutlookSoft Corporation, North America. "OutlookSoft continues to beat Hyperion in the marketplace and this legal action is an attempt to slow our continued sales momentum. It is a testament to our success that Hyperion has chosen to compete with us in the courtroom rather than in the BPM marketplace. We remain committed to delivering patented, innovative products and world-class support to assure our customers' continued success."
"These technology patents have no relevance to the architecture of the OutlookSoft Everest platform," said Christian Gheorghe, chief technology officer, OutlookSoft Corporation. "Our Everest solution is winning in the marketplace because our fourth generation, patented technology helps customers build open BPM applications to solve their business needs."
