Nicole Kidman Takes Legal Action Against Snappers
28 January 2005TWO paparazzi photographers will face court following legal action being taken against them by Nicole Kidman, this comes two days after a bugging device was found outside her Sydney home.
Legal representatives for the two photographers said papers had been served and Waverley Local Court would hear applications for apprehended personal violence orders.
Ms Kidman's father, psychologist Antony Kidman, had complained earlier this week that his daughter felt like a prisoner in her own home. But following the discovery of a bug on Sunday in a garden across from Ms Kidmans house in an area where her security staff gather, the matter was reported to police. The photographers accuse Ms Kidman of attempting to control the manner in which the media covers her personal and public life by taking out the APVOs against the photographers, further accusing her of 'extreme actions against paparazzi merely doing their job.
It was also reported that the paparazzi pair would strenuously defend the applications by the daily telegraph.
The trouble started when Nicole Kidman returned to her homeland to star in the new movie Eucalyptus, with photographers tracking every move the star makes. Thishas not only caused problems for her but also caused distress for her daughter, which Ms Kidman recently complained about.
