Millis Man Sentenced for Receipt of Child Pornography, Reports U.S. Attorney
29 December 2006 A Millis man was sentenced late yesterday in federal court for receipt and possession of child pornography. United States Attorney Michael J. Sullivan and Peter Zegarac, Inspector in Charge of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service in New England, announced that JON BLAISDELL, age 40, of Millis, Massachusetts, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Patti B. Saris to 5 years and 10 months in prison, to be followed by 10 years of supervised release. On September 20, 2006, BLAISDELL pleaded guilty to an Indictment charging him with receipt and attempted receipt of visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. At the earlier plea hearing, the prosecutor told the Court that, had the case proceeded to trial, the evidence would have proven that between January, 2006, and February, 2006, BLAISDELL received and attempted to receive images of children engaged in sexual conduct. Additionally, on February 9, 2006, BLAISDELL possessed one or more visual depictions of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Dana Gershengorn in Sullivan's Major Crimes Unit.
