Lorenzo Trujillo, Assistant Dean, University of Colorado Law School, Appointed New HNBA General Counsel
18 October 2006 University of Colorado Law School Assistant Dean Lorenzo Trujillo was appointed as General Counsel for the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA). As General Counsel, Dean Trujillo will provide legal advice and representation to the HNBA President, and the HNBA Board of Governors. "The appointment as HNBA General Counsel represents a true peak in my legal career," said Dean Trujillo. "To have gained the trust and respect of the President and Board of Governors of the HNBA is a great honor. I am humbled by the opportunity to serve the legal profession as the legal officer for the HNBA." Dean Trujillo has committed his life to public service for the betterment of the Hispanic/Latino people in the United States. He is a 14th generation American whose family roots date back 1540 when his ancestors first entered what is now the Southwest United States and then, later settled on land grants outside Taos, New Mexico and San Luis, Colorado. Dean Trujillo holds a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Colorado and an Ed.D. from the University of San Francisco. He received his law degree (J.D.) from the University of Colorado Law School in 1993. Trujillo practiced law as a partner in the Denver law firm of Frie, Arndt & Trujillo, LLP, and as in-house counsel in Adams County School District 14, prior to joining CU's Law School. Dean Trujillo joined the University of Colorado School of Law in 2004, where he currently serves as Assistant Dean of Students and Professional Programs.
