Lawsuit in Camp Blanding Copter Crash Settled
23 December 2004Florida Army National Guard Warrant Officer Justin Swofford of St. Augustine died in February 2002 when an AH-64A Apache plunged into a grove of trees during a training flight.
Chief Warrant Officer Kent Walker of Jacksonville was injured.
Terms of the settlement with McDonnell-Douglas Helicopter Co. and Boeing weren't released.
A National Guard investigative board said the crash was caused by a mechanical problem that interrupted the fuel supply to both the helicopter's engines.
