David Beckham Lawsuit, Cristiano Ronaldo Rape Allegations, David Lee Roth Taking Over for Howard Stern

24 October 2005

Gambling911.com is proud to announce its latest regular feature, Oddstalk. The column will delve into the world of sports, entertainment and politics with a unique twist.

This week, Odds Talk looks at the latest news surrounding soccer star David Beckham and the rape allegations against another soccer star, Cristiano Ronaldo.

"Gambling911.com found out last year that the world loves to read about David Beckham," commented Christopher Costigan, Founder and President of Gambling911.com. "We were one of the most searched web sites last year when news broke of some alleged David Beckham affairs. Our server nearly crashed with all the traffic coming to Gambling911."

And then there is soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, revealed as the alleged "mystery rapist" reported in London tabloid News of the World.

"This is most certainly going to be a hot story over the next few weeks we are sure," Costigan said.

Odds Talk also looks at a commitment made by Gambling911.com's longest tenured sponsor, Bodog.com, which has offered to pay all Allen Iverson fines related to the newly imposed NBA dress code.

The basketball pros will be expected to wear business-casual attire whenever they participate in team or league activities, including arriving at games, leaving games, conducting interviews and making promotional appearances. Teams and players will be subject to fines for violating the dress code. The amount of the fines has not yet been announced.

"Iverson and other NBA players have suggested that they will not abide by the league’s dress code, and Bodog.com will offer to reimburse any fines levied, and match the payment with a donation to each player’s charity of choice," commented Bodog.com Founder and CEO Calvin Ayre.
