Attorney General to Commemorate National Amber Alert Awareness Day

Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales will speak about expanding the reach of the AMBER Alert and Deputy Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe will unveil the AMBER Alert postage stamp FRIDAY, JAN. 13 at 10 a.m. EST. The AMBER Alert is the nation's first early warning system for missing or abducted children, and its name honors the memory of Amber Hagerman, whose abduction and murder in 1996 while riding her bicycle, was the impetus for the establishment of the alert.
