ASICS Seeks Injunction and Damages From Payless
26 June 2006 ASICS America Corporation (Irvine, California)and ASICS Corporation Japan (Kobe, Japan) announced today that they havefiled a lawsuit in Federal District Court in the US District Court, CentralDistrict of California against Payless Shoesource, Inc. (Topeka, Kansas)for trademark infringement, unfair competition, trademark dilution andfalse advertising. ASICS is seeking a preliminary and permanent injunctionagainst Payless to prevent any future sales and distribution of theirshoes, in particular their CHAMPION brand shoes, which bear a stripe designsimilar to ASICS® famous Stripe Design trademark. In addition, ASICS isalso seeking damages, including profits and attorney fees from Payless.
